MUA Shimmer Highlighter - £3.00

If you know me, then you will know how much I love this product. 

I'm ashamed to say that I've not reached for it much recently, but finding this post sitting in my drafts folded has reminded me to use it again. 

The first thing that drew me to this, was the fact that the product wasn't flat in the pan. I love the design of this and I think the white packaging of the Undress your skin range works really well with the product. 

The highlighter itself is a strong pearly pink colour. A little goes a very long way is just perfect on the top of your cheeks.
The longevity of this product is also great. I have found this is one of the only face highlighting powders that doesn't wear off during the day.

For the very affordable price, you get a great 7.5g of product. So as you can imagine, it will last you quite a while.  I've owned this since probably this time last year, and I've not even made much of a dent in the embossing yet. Awesome, huh!

I would repurchase this powder over and over, without a doubt.
There's been an influx of new MUA products recently, so hopefully I can get my hands on them soon.

With red carpet season well under way, I thought I would share a product I was recently sent to try out, one of which I think will now be a huge part of my skincare routine. 

As well as the dresses, I'm always keeping my eye on the beauty trends on the red carpet. A good face isn't always down to the make-up. Clear glowing skin will help foundation and concealer sit better and I find it even helps with staying power throughout a night. 

I've been a fan of Murad, ever since I received the Skin perfecting primer in a Glossy box, sometime last year.

When I got the chance to try out their Pomegranate exfoliating mask*, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try something different from the brand. 

The mask comes packaged in 6 sachets for 6 uses, meaning it's the perfect product if you're travelling a lot.

Dr. Murad created this as part of his Vitalic range, to combat oily or dry zones, clear blocked pores, and keep combination skin in balance. 

This is perfect for me as I do tend to get dry patches around my T zone. Even more so, now I'm out of the house more often.

To use the mask, apply to freshly cleansed skin. Massage into the face and neck, then leave for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off and moisturising. 

Murad recommend to use this product only once or twice a week.

My first impression when using this mask, was that it certainly isn't your typical exfoliating product. When I think of exfoliating, I think of the masks or face washes that have some kind of abrasive ingredient to work away the dead skin. 

The Murad pomegranate exfoliating mask* is entirely smooth. 

When applying it to my face, I didn't necessarily feel as though it was exfoliating, but after leaving it on for a little while, it does start to feel a little tingly. Almost a little burning if I'm honest. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I definitely felt like it was doing something. That's good, right. 

The product works with natural fruit enzymes and AHAs to help dissolve the dead skin cells.

When I washed off the mask, my skin felt incredible!! I'm not over exaggerating with those exclamation marks. 

My skin has been acting out a little lately, and I do have a few problem areas. 

After this treatment, my skin was super soft, smooth and visibly clearer. 

That was four nights ago, and I still feel like I'm seeing the benefits of using this product. My skin is still glowing, my make-up is applying so much smoother and it isn't looking cakey at all. 

If you ask me, this is an amazing product. If you are looking for something to give you that red carpet glow, this is definitely the product for you. 

It is a little pricey at £25, but you do get six uses. 

Personally, I feel I would only need to use this once a week, but obviously that is down to personal preference and how the product works for you.

A competitor for Benefit's They're Real? Maybe! 

If you read my recent post about the Benefit event that I attended on Saturday evening, you will already know that I left, craving to buy They're Real. I hadn't tried it until that night and I fell in love. 

The only thing that was putting me off, was the price tag.

February and March seem to be my most expensive months, with a ton of family and friends birthdays, so I was on the look out for something a little cheaper. 

I had seen adverts for this new mascara from Maybelline for a couple of weeks, and I even had to stop myself from buying a few days back. But, luckily I have a very nice mummy and she knew how much of a pants weekend I'd had, so she sent me my birthday money early so I could treat myself. 

I picked up the non waterproof version of this mascara in Black. I tend to cry a lot (yup, I'm an over emotional goose,) meaning waterproof or not, my eyes always run. 

I have been totally blown away by this product. The photos you see below are the result of only one coat of mascara, with no curling prior to application!
It is incredible! 

The plastic brush has what I can only describe as tiny 'brissles' in comparison to what I'm used to. I feel that it still picks up plenty of product and distributes it evenly, whilst curling your lashes and giving you tons of volume.

I found it stayed well on my lashes and was easy to remove when it came to the end of the day.

I may have only used this a couple of times so far, but I think I can already say that this is going to be a favourite for the month of February.

Being a #VIPmakebeliever, I'm lucky enough to try out products for them every now and then.
Last week, they contacted me and asked if I would like to try their bronzer. Of course, being the bronzer lover that I am, I jumped at the chance.

The bronzer and brush set comes in a simple black and gold box which houses a mirror in the lid and a magnetic closing feature. As with the tanning products, I absolutely love the design of the packaging. I do feel that maybe it's a teeny bit big if you are wanting to pop it in your handbag, but other than that I have absolutely no complaints. The magnet is nice and strong, so you can be sure that your bronzer will stay safe if you do decided to carry out with you.

The bronzer itself is soft and matte. There's nothing worse than an over shimmery face. The powder is nice and solid, therefore fallout and excess powder is minimal. It gives a gorgeous glow and does exactly what it says on the box. 

I prefer to use this as a soft contour, but it's also perfect if you want an extra bit of colour on your skin. 

To get the most from this bronzer, try using it with Makebelieve fake tan in zone 3. 

The brush is absolutely incredible. I'm always a little dubious about brushes that come with a product, but this one is so soft!! The brush is the perfect size to contour cheekbones and popping in your bag to take out with you. Usually I would normally forget about these kinds of brushes, but this one will now be a staple in my kit. I love it that much.

Not long ago I purchased another of the MUA eye shadow palettes, this time the Pretty Pastels palette.

As you guys know, eventually I want to own all of the palettes from MUA as I think they are such a brilliant quality for the price you pay.

This is probably going to be a short review, because I cannot praise MUA enough. 

The palette itself is £4, (only 33p per shadow) and is available online or from any Superdrug which carries the MUA PRO range. As with all of the other palettes available, the packaging is neat, sturdy and houses the product well. Although, unlike some of the other palettes from MUA, this one doesn't include a mini tutorial on the back.

The shadows themselves have great pigmentation, especially for pastel shades. The formula isn't too powdery and sits on your eyelids nicely.

I like to use this product on more casual days, or when I'm feeling like something more flirty and girly.

Like I said before, I really can't praise MUA enough, yet again this is an all round fabulous palette, filled with great product for an amazing price.

The Mememe Lip Creams are a long lasting, soft lip stick enriched with shea butter and vitamin E. 

I purchased the shade Cherub blush when I realised that I didn't actually have a good nude in my collection. 

The lip creams sell for £8.50 and you receive 4 grams of product which I think will last you a good while. Apart from my one Mac lipstick, this is the most I have spent on a lip product before, but I am sure glad I did. 

Just as I thought, this is the perfect natural colour for me, it's a little peachy, but I actually really like that. The wear is amazing and the finish is a gorgeous satin gloss. It feels smooth on the lips and doesn't feather, even if you aren't wearing lip liner. 

This lip cream is perfect for a first date or even a job interview, which is in fact what I did on Thursday (and I got the job!)

I have one more shade which I purchased to try out and review from mememe and I'm really looking forward to it. If the other colour impresses me as much as this one did, I will most certainly be purchasing a few more. At the moment there are ten shades in total and I already have my eye on Morello silk and Pashmina pink.

Now, you all know what this is!
The thing is, I hadn't ever been able to splurge and buy the full size product. So when Glamour magazine offered a sample size, I jumped at the chance. They were also offering a sample of the 'Bad Gal Lash' mascara and a sample of the 'That gal', which I have ended up with as it made my friend break out.
The sample is only 7.5ml, but I have been able to get a good few uses out of it. The POREfessional claims to 'Quickly minimise the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin', this it really does!
I've always had an issue with large pores on my nose and chin, yet this magic balm completely minimises the appearance of them and once I apply foundation on top, they are barely visible at all.
I love the fact that the product is smooth but not greasy and a little goes a very long way.
I am absolutely dying to get my hands on a full size, but unfortunately we have to move house within the next month so money is going to be incredibly tight for at least the next two.
I can only hope that a family member reads this, takes pity on me and decides to treat me to this £23.50 piece of beauty. Eh, who am I kidding?! I best start saving.

Introducing another bargain from my local Factory Outlet Store.

I can safely say I have never tried anything from the Astor brand before, but when I saw this staring back at me, I just knew I had to try it out. 

I payed only £2 for this and I am super duper impressed with what I got for my money.

This VIP 3 tone blush is sold as a coral, which when you use all of the three shades together, it certainly is. But, if you the separate the shades you can also use it as a soft pink also. 

Astor claims this blush is a 'very soft formula containing over 74% minerals'. Soft, it most certainly is. With the slightest touch you can pick up a ton of product, the product of which is incredibly pigmented! 

The blush itself can be used to create quite a bold cheek or sheered out to look very subtle. The product isn't glittery but isn't matte either. It falls in that nice little space between that gives your skin some instant glow. 

The blush is very nicely packaged and comes with a mirror in the lid and a little applicator brush also. You receive 6.75g of product, which for the £2 I paid, I am amazed with. 

I've yet to come across any other shades, but I will keep checking back at my local store and as soon as I do I will most certainly be purchasing some more.

Hi Lovelies!

I have been waiting for a while to purchase this foundation. I've seen the hype for it all over the place, so when I saw this is my local Factory outlet shop for only £5, I had to get it! 

The reason for it being so cheap, it that it is not an English product, which if I'm totally honest, makes no difference to me. The product insider the bottle is still the same. 

Just as every other blogger I've seen talk about this, I love this foundation!! I got the shade True nude as I now have a bit of colour on my skin thanks to our heatwave which is now long gone. 

I only have to use one pump to cover my entire face so the bottle will last a good while, and with that I can get a good medium coverage. I'd say if you want a more full coverage, it is buildable so you still have that option. 

Many people have commented on the sparkle that creates the 'wake up' aspect to the foundation. When blended out on your face it is barely noticeable. It literally just gives a nice glow to the skin without looking like a disco ball. If you are worried that you look a little glitter faced, a light dusting of powder should sort that right out.

Even though I payed a lower price for this specific bottle, I am most definitely going to repurchase as soon as I run out. I may even have to buy a lighter shade sometime soon because my tan is fading sooooo fast!

Hi Lovelies!

I recently came across a little competition on the Bobbi Brown Facebook page, so I thought I'd give it a go seeing as all you had to do was 'like' the page and enter your details. 

Well, I won! Woo! This is the first thing I've won, so as you can imagine I was quite chuffed. 

 The item I won was a sample size of the Perfectly Defined Mascara. I've never tried anything from Bobbi Brown before so I was really looked forward to getting it in the post. 

 When I received it Saturday morning the first thing I thought was 'damn, I've already put my make-up on!' 

When I did get to give it a go though, the brush seemed nice, nothing fancy and not too chunky and the formula was pleasantly runny. I don't really like mascaras that feel thick and clumpy. I'd much rather work with something that doesn't instantly give me the spider lash effect!

This amazing result was after only one coat! I can't remember the last mascara I used where I didn't have to apply two coats for it to even look half this good.

The mascara certainly did what it says it does, it defines your lashes and I'd even say it gives amazing length as well. I didn't curl my lashes before use as I wanted to see what it would be like on my natural lashes, no prepping. The product seemed to give a good curl without making it look too forced, and my lashes didn't feel crisp after application either. 

I have nothing but good things to say about this product and I would definitely look into buying a full size.

I am so pleased I got to try this out and would really recommend entering the next little comp they run on the facebook page. You never know, you may just win. :)
