Oh, Maybelline Colour Tattoos, I love you.

It's taken me a good while, but I have finally purchased the shade 'Timeless Black'. You guys should know about my love for these products by now, and this one does not disappoint.
I don't think I'll ever use this as an eyeshadow base, unless the look really calls for it. I bought it with the hopes that it would make a great gel eyeliner alternative, and boy does it!
I've never really had much luck with gel eyeliners, I find they can drag on the skin and dry out really quickly. This on the other had is perfectly smooth, and the formula is just wet enough to make some nice precise lines and points.
As with most of the colour tattoos (all bar a couple of shades), the pigmentation of this is excellent. I absolutely love the addition of the teeny tiny blue flecks. It was only when I took these photos that I realised they were there, and I had to go back and really look closely. The beauty of it is, is that it gives the product a tad more dimension without really trying. On the eyes it looks strong and bold, but not completely flat and matte. I love it.
Another bonus to using this as an eyeliner is it's longevity. It will last all day long, and I'd even say it would wear well into the night too if you needed it too. I actually have to really work to remove this at the end of the day. Massive thumbs up.

Because of this product, I have found my love for strong eyeliner all over again. It was lost for a little while, but it sure is back now!

You can purchase this at any Superdrug or Boots.
I picked mine up for an insane £1.50 at Fragrance Direct.

monday makeup, whenflowersfall, ford, face of the day, gradient liner, eyeliner, eyebrows,

Happy Monday lovelies!
I've had to stay in today as the roofer was due to come around yet again. It's taken me up to now to even be able to sit down at my desk for a good period of time.

For today's face I wanted to go with something simple, but eye-catching. I realised I hadn't done something with blue for quiet a while, so I dug out pretty much every blue eye product I own and this was the result. I really love the outcome and would even wear it without the eyeshadow along my lower lash line. It's really easy to do but looks like you put in a little more effort. Great for if you don't have a huge amount of time!

monday

I thought I'd make Monday make-up a regular thing again. Although todays has been harder to post than I thought. It seems with pregnancy I've lost all of my self confidence and I currently want to attack my hair with a bottle of hair dye and a pair of scissors. Hopefully these posts can bring a little of it back. Hopefully.

I haven't worn make-up regularly since I started suffering with morning sickness, so it will be nice to make it part of my routine again.  I'm not normally a fan of strong lips, but I was inspired by an instagram pic of ombre lips and I fell in love. I would say I'd wear it to the xmas party I have coming up, but then Liam won't come near me.

I'm now going to tackle my very glamorous mountain of washing up and laundry. Let's see how long this stays on my face.

Hey beauties,

This week is Smooch week.
I was very, very kindly sent a bundle of products to try, so I figured I would dedicate a week to reviewing said products.
I have given them a good test and I feel this week may come in handy, if you do ever fancy purchasing a few new items.

I used to be an avid kohl pencil user, but I seemed to have lost my love for smokey eyes in the past few months.

The Smooch Cosmetics Kohl pencil* is very much like the lip liner, the product is at one end and on the other end is an applicator.
The kohl liner includes a smudge applicator, which I think is perfect.

The liner itself isn't the blackest black, but it is smooth and works great in the waterline.
I found it smudged and blended easily, both using the smudge applicator and a brush.

I found this lasted well throughout the day, but I did find it transferred a little onto my eyelids, giving me ever so slight panda eyes.

If you want to try this out for yourself, you can purchase it at the Smooch Cosmetics website.

Monday Make-up is BACK!

So, it's been well over a month since I last did a Monday make-up and I promised yesterday that it would be returning.
Today I'm going to a much awaited We The Kings gig and this is what I came up with for my face.
I didn't want to go too overboard as I know I am going to be roasting once the gig is in full swing, and to be honest, make-up running down your face is never pretty. :)
As I write this, it's just started to rain. Wonderful!
I hope you are all having a fab bank holiday Monday.

Wow, so this is a post that I had quite obviously forgotten and it was sitting in my drafts folder waiting to be finished.
The MUA Intense colour eyeliners are amazing. At the moment I only have the above two colours, but I plan on getting a few of the other soon.
These eyeliner pencils are incredibly soft, have amazing pigmentation and great longevity. Also another bonus I have found is that they are so easy to sharpen. Don't you just hate it when you have to fight with a pencil to get it sharp again. I sure do.
These eyeliners are in the basic range and sell for £1 each. You can either purchase them at Superdrug or on their online store. They come in an array of colours such as orange and turquoise.

Glossybox January Review Week - Day One
Helllooo Lovelies!
This little beauty is my favourite item from January's Glossybox. I had it seen in several previews, yet the colour I had seen was generally was powder pink. So it was a nice surprise to see that the colour I had been sent was plum.
I haven't got a purple eye liner in my collection yet, so this one was welcomed with open arms, although I would have been just as happy with the pink shade. That would have made the ideal waterline colour to make your eyes look brighter.
The design of the pencil itself is the best design for an eye liner I have ever seen. You can sharpen it down to the smallest nib and the long silver end will still be present to help control application.
The pencil looks like it will be a lovely strong purple colour although when swatched it's not as pigmented as I had imaged it would be and when used on your eyes, it does give very little colour pay off.  This being said I think this shade will make an ideal everyday eye liner because it's not as harsh as a black.
I really don't think I'd pay the £9.50 price tag for another one of these, unless that is I fell in love with a certain colour, but I certainly wouldn't be devastated if Glossybox featured more from Eyeko.

Fresh faced...

...and ready for family fun!

Friday, 9 December 2011

Hi Lovelies!
First off, I just want to apologize for any blurry photos, my camera isn't happy with me and isn't focusing like it should be.
I recently placed an order for some MUA (make up academy) products. I happened to order on the day of the launch of their website and managed to get mine done before it crashed due to a mad rush of shoppers.
A week after, I received an email from one of the girls on their team apologizing for the delay in my order being shipped. Just so happens that I had chosen one of their most popular products so it took a little longer than usual. I was really impressed that someone had actually taken the time to email me and make sure I knew what was happening, even though I'm usually quite patient waiting for things to come in the post any way.
MUA were offering a free Immaculate collection palette for every order over £8, so I had to take full advantage of that.
This is the Immaculate collection palette. It has 24 shades ranging from mattes to highly pigmented glittery colours. The packaging is very eye catching and even has a 'mini masterclass' printed on the back. The masterclass tells you which shades you should use and where to achieve a certain look.
I am truthfully very impressed with this palette, I had seen so many people blog about it already, I kind of knew what to expect, but the texture of the eye shadows and the pigmentation of them really blew me away. I am in love with shade 14, a very sparkly gold tone. It's ideal for a Christmas look.
Swatches above L-R : 10, 4, 15, 8, 11, 14, 22, 24, 20
Water Proof Eyeliner - £1
This eyeliner is just what I needed, I always find my eyeliner ends up running down my face at some point during the day, but this will not budge. After swatching the product, I washed my hands twice with soap and very hot water and you can still see the eyeliner. Obviously not as strong, but it's certainly still there.
The applicator is a new one for me, it's a strong plastic 'brush', which seems ideal for the most precise line.
Pearl Eyeshadow - Shade 6 - £1
I bought this eyeshadow because the colour caught my eye. It's a very rich teal-y shade of green. The pigmentation of the shadow is great and I think for a pound, you really can't go wrong!
Lipsticks - £1 each
As a newly self proclaimed lipstick addict, I purchased 3 colours with the intention of keeping two for myself and putting one in my giveaway box, but the colours were all so gorgeous I couldn't decide which ones I wanted to keep. I am heading to superdrug this weekend so shall buy one of these 3 for the giveaway box then. Which one would you like to be in the box? Leave a comment below.
The lipsticks are smooth and long wearing, I have been wearing shade 3 for the past 8 hours, I have eaten, drank tea and it is still there. The two bright colours are very strong and bold, yet the shade in the middle is a very sheer nudey pink contains blue sparkles.
I love these so much, I think I may end up with every single shade.
Swatches above L-R: 13, 5, 3
Nail Varnishes - £1 each
I happily purchased 3 new polishes, as one of my new years resolutions will be to make more of an effort with my nails. Of course the pink caught my girly girl eye and I thought the green would be perfect for Crimbo. I can't say anything bad about these at all.
Swatches above L-R: 17, 13, 16

What are your thoughts on the MUA products? Can you recommend me anything to try?

Disclaimer: I purchased the above items with my own money and my opinions are truthful.

Winged Eyeliner...

Classy, simple and elegant!

Friday, 11 November 2011

Bold Lips.
This is one make-up trend I have never really followed, until now. In my latest ELF haul, I purchased two lips colours, a studio matte lip colour in 'Natural', which isn't really for the bold look, but the other was their plumping lip glaze in 'Ruby Kiss', which is the most gorgeous deep red gloss. Now usually I wouldn't wear a gloss because personally I don't like the sticky feel, but the colour itself is enough to make me want to wear it.
One celeb to watch for bold lips is Lauren Conrad. The Hills beauty seems to be rarely without this statement look. From rich burgundys to hot pinks, LC always wears this look teamed with the perfect winged eyeliner.
