beauty, makeup wishlist, colourpop, milani, Anastasia beverly hills, la girl, pomade, dipbrow, rose blush, concealer, whenflowersfall,

I've become a little obsessed with buying new make-up products to try recently. I've got what I see as quite a big collection already, but I'm on a mission to try new brands I've not really tried much from before.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall,

Now, it's not very often I win a competition, but I do like to enter them every now and then. So you can imagine my surprise when I won one of two ColourPop sets being given away by Beauty Crowd last week.
If you're in the UK, then you will know how hard it is to get hold of anything from ColourPop over here, and Beauty Crowd are trying their darned hardest to get them to let them stock them for Uk customers.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall,

The set that I won was the 'Mondays in Malibu' eyeshadow collection, and it appeared on my door step yesterday morning. I have never been so excited and eager to take blog photos, all so I could put the products on my face.
The set consists of six of their super shock shadows, two pearlised finishes, one metallic, two satin luxe and one ultra metallic finish. They are beautiful.
The shadows are super duper soft, not powdery in the slightest, and almost feel like a cream. In the US, this set sells for $30, which I think is a bargain for the quality of these shadows.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall, gecko
GECKO is described as a soft opalescent green with a pink duo chrome. As you can see from the photo, it seems more pink than green; and I think that translates more than the green does.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall, snakebite
SNAKEBITE is a warm gold with an ultra metallic finish. This is the most beautiful shade and would complement blue eyes perfectly.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall, sand swoon
SAND SWOON is a true pink shade and is described as a satin luxe finish. The pink has soft gold flecks throughout.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall, prickly pear
PRICKLY PEAR is my ultimate favourite in this collection. It is a metallic finish and is described as a warm toned plum with gold and pink throughout.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall, mirage
MIRAGE is a soft gold-green tone and is a pearlised finish. Upon swatching, I find the green is very subtle and is more of a gold.

colourpop, mondays in malibu, review, swatches, uk, beautycrowd, beauty, whenflowerfall, hot tamale
HOT TAMALE is another satin luxe finish. It is a true mahogany brown, with copper sparkles throughout. This is a close runner for favourite again Prickly pear.

I swatched the shadows onto my arm, without any primer underneath. As I said above, they are all super soft and easily workable. I really hope that Beauty Crowd can get ColourPop on their side, and will be stocking the brand soon. The products are incredible and I would absolutely love to try their blushes and lippie stix. The US has gone bonkers for their new ultra matte lip creams recently, and I think they would be top of my purchase soon list, if they became readily available here in the UK.

Would you like to see ColourPop here in the UK? Let BeautyCrowd know on Twitter, and let's help persuade ColourPop to share their amazing beauty goodness with us.

Another month, another collab with the girls. This month we worked to the theme 'Summer holiday', as it's currently the big break for Schools and Colleges here in the UK. It's also usually when we have our best weather, but I think someone forgot to tell the weather man this year.

Please tell me I'm not the only one to have trouble making hair decisions!
I have been lusting over having a full fringe for months and months recently, but I just haven't been able to commit. There are so many beauts in not only in the celeb world, but also instagram that are rocking a 70s inspired shag cut, and I love it.

My best friend is a trained hair cutter do-er, and I have asked her to chop chop at my hair next time I see her, but I'm still umming and ahhing over it. You see, I've had a fringe many times before. `there have been good, and there have been awful. See below!

Me1

I think it really depends on my weight at the time. My face seems to change a lot with an added pound or two. So what would you do? I'm leaning towards doing it; I mean hair grows, right?
I guess what I'm saying is, I just need a bit of a push.
Or, if you think it's a totally awful idea, please tell me.

This poor product has been sat waiting for me to test it out for months. I was kindly sent it a good while back by the lovely lot over at Jerome Russell; but with moving, and Scout's birthday, and everything else my life has thrown at me recently, I just haven't had time to try it out.

A couple of weeks back, I did manage to find a moment, and I took the chance to finally get my pink on. But, unfortunately, this was a case of 'sometimes the product just doesn't work for you'.

pink, beauty, hair, toner, bblonde, jerome russell, whenflowersfall

As you can see, I wouldn't say my hair is particularly dark. A couple of days prior to this photo, we had added a good few extra highlights into my barnet, and some pieces were genuinely quite blonde.
I followed all of the instructions on the box, and I was sooo impressed with the formula of the product.

pink, beauty, hair, toner, bblonde, jerome russell, whenflowersfall

As you can see, the toner is a super dark pink. I did find you had to give the bottle a good shake, otherwise you were left with a product that was quite runny, and not overly pigmented. But once shaken, it was thick and strong in colour.
I applied it to my hair, and it instantly looks like it would take really well. Even my scalp was pink from the strong colour. I put on the plastic cap I had and warmed it through with a hairdryer, as the instructions said to do.
One of the other factors of this product I loved, was the scent. It wasn't over baring, but really did make you feel like you were in a salon.
After the developing time was up, I rinsed my hair and began to dry it.

pink, beauty, hair, toner, bblonde, jerome russell, whenflowersfall

As you can see, it barely took to my hair at all. The very white pieces on the bottom were a very soft pink, but not how I would have expected them to look, considering the picture on the front of the box. The rest wasn't pink at all. Even the blondest bits at my roots, which you can see in the photo above didn't take. I ended up not drying my hair completely, as I did have another product to pop onto my hair, but I'm sure it wouldn't have looked too different to the photos above.

I am a little disappointed by this product. As you guys know, I'm a huge Jerome Russell fan and will always use that brand of hair products; but this left me feeling a little meh. I honestly think the result was down to my hair colour to begin with. I truly believe that if you are lucky enough to have super blonde/white hair, this would work wonderfully for you; but if you are looking to add a pink hue to some highlights, it may just not work that great.

The pink toner is one of a few that Jerome Russell do, and I can say that the Champagne and Platinum toners are fab. I generally use the platinum one to help pull out any brassiness I may have in my hair.

They retail at £4.99 and you can often purchase them at Boots or Superdrug.

Have you tried this pink toner before? Let me know in the comments below if you were any more successful than I was with it.

beauty, lips, wishlist, whenflowersfall, blogger, mac, gerad cosmetics, jeffree star, essence, milani

With all the other stuff going on in life recently, I've had absolutely no time for my beloved make up. I've seriously been lucky if I managed yo grab ten minutes mid morning to put something on my face. Now that things are slowly, but surely settling down, we are finally finding somewhat of a routine again. Which means....all the makeup, GET ON MA FACE!!!

With this new found time, I've gone a little cosmetics crazy and I'm dying to go on a bit of a spending spree. Now, of course I have to start with lips. They are my favourite products after all. I'm looking to add a bit of variety into my collection, and try some new brands. You're going to wondering, after I've said that, why I've added MAC products in there; and the truth is, I don't own any!!!  Well, I own one lipstick, and I'm pretty sure it's an internet fake. I've kept it for yeaRs, but never actually used it.

Brands on my radar at the minute are the likes of Gerard Cosmetics. LA Splash (gimme all the lip couturiers please and thank you,) and Essence. I'm also constantly drooling over products from ColourPop. Holy moly, those new ultra matte lip colours are insane!! The moment they hit the UK, you know I'll be all over that.

I feel like I've been out of the makeup loop for soooo long. I don't know what's good at the minute. So I need recommendations guys. Fellow lip product addicts, what do I need in my life.

I've been umming and ahh-ing over going blonder aain for months now, so when I was asked if I would like to try out a Jerome Russell Bblonde product or two, it seemed like fate.
I asked to try out the new Ombre kit in Number one, as I figured this would be a nice way to jump start the journey back to the lighter side.
Now, as you can see in see in the before photos, I did already have some blonde in the ends of my hair. This was from a little play around with some bleach I had laying in a drawer. Funnily enough, it was from Jerome Russell. I was hoping to make it more of a solid ombre and neaten up any patchy parts that I had made. Let's make it known now, I am not trained in hair at all. I just do it for fun.
There are two new ombre kits now available. Number one, for light to dark brown hair; and number two, for blonde to medium brown hair. Kit number one is said to be able to lift the hair a couple of extra shades than number two.

In the kits you will receive everything you need. The bleach powder and peroxide, the conditioning shampoo, instructions, tinting brush, mixing bowl and gloves; and a marvellous product called the blending lotion. I think this is what sets this ombre kit aside from others on the market.
You begin by applying the blending lotion where you would like the ombre to start. This meant, because of the length of my hair, I applied this to the mid section just above my the blonde I already had. Then, once you have mixed the bleach, you just apply that from where you popped on the blending lotion, down to the ends on your hair. The key is to not apply any bleach above the blending lotion.

It does just that. It creates a form of barrier for the bleach, meaning it will lighten your hair, but not to the strength of the bleach on the ends of your hair where the lotion isn't.
I loved the addition of this product. It makes the kit so incredibly easy to use, and you aren't left with the line that you can sometimes get stuck with when trying to ombre at home.
Now, you may be thinking 'YIKES THATS ORANGE,' but let me say that I didn't end up leaving it on for the maximum time. Unfortunately, Scout woke up from his nap (an hour early) mid way through and I didn't want to risk him getting covered in bleach.  I'm pretty sure if you do leave this on longer than the 20 minutes that I did, you would see far more lifting from the bleach.

I was very impressed with the result though! The blending lotion really did it's job well, and considering I do have some strong red tones in my hair from previous brown box dyes, it could have been a heck of a lot worse on the orange side.

As for the condition of my hair, of course I followed up with the conditioning shampoo supplied, and my hair felt amazing. It didn't feel damaged in the slightest and was actually really soft and fluffy.
A couple of days later, I did follow up with the Jerome Russell BBlonde Platinum toner, which I picked up from Superdrug. It really helped to lift some of the brassiness out of my hair and made it more of a softer, natural kind of blonde.

If you are looking to ombre your hair, I wouldn't recommend this kit enough.
This was one part one of achieving my summer hair, so make sure to stay tuned for part two.

You can currently purchase the Ombre Kit* I used at Superdrug for only £6.99.

Oh, hey giant picture of my face.
Today's make-up was minimal. We had a PJ day and I had a bit of cleaning to do, but I still wanted to feel somewhat alive looking. This probably took me five minute to slap on and it's honestly a great combo.

The products I used today were...
Benefit Fake Up Concealer
Benefit Hello Flawless Powder
HD Brows Palette
Collection Volumising Mascara
Astor Blush (I have no idea of the name.)
Elf Matte Lip Colour - Tea Rose
Model Co Lipgloss - Viva

This is a series I used to have on my blog a while back. It's one I loved to update every Monday, and I have no idea why I ever stopped doing it.
I've felt a real slump recently. I'm having a bit of a mummy dilemma and I feel a little like a middle aged housewife at the moment. I rarely put make-up on, unless I'm actually having to leave the house, and I certainly don't feel pretty a lot of the time.
So, I'm bringing it back, and I'm hoping it will get me inspired again. I still love creating new looks just as much as I used to, I just need to make some more time for me, and this is as great as an excuse as any.

Thi s is a look I wore a lot over the weekend. It's a current fave and I'm just loooovving anything bronze at the moment. Much like everyone else in the world right now.
I love the fact that it's a little undone. Messy and grungy if you will; and it really makes my eyes look blue. They never look blue!

I've got a tutorial of this look going up tomorrow, if you'd like to see how I did it.
I feel like it's totally going to be my go to look for a while. I just need to remember to change things up next Monday. :)
