You may have seen in yesterday's hair care post that I mentioned that I had spent an evening going blonder. 

That was thanks to the lovely Dannielle over at Jerome Russell. I had been thinking of going full on blonde and getting rid of my highlights for a little while, and when she emailed me asking if I would like to try out one of their products, of course I said yes! 

For the past four months or so, I have been using the Jerome Russell BBlonde highlighting kit. It's the best kit I've come across in my many years of hair dying, so I figured I'd give the hair lightening kit a go to try and lift the darker patches in my hair. 

After telling Danielle about the length and thickness of my hair, she sent me three boxes of the lightener for use on light/medium brown hair. My natural colour (regrowth) is a very dark mousey blonde, and the other patches in my hair were a brown shade, so I thought this would be the perfect kit.

I set to applying the product to my hair and ended up using a good two and a half boxes worth of product. I probably could have gotten away with two, but I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed any patches. 

The kit says to leave on from anywhere between 20-60 minutes. I gave it only 10 minutes after I had finished applying and massaging the product through my hair and then rinsed. The shampoo included in the kit works well to help remove all of the bleach from the hair. I then followed up with a hair mask as I knew my hair would need the extra moisture. After years of hair dying, I like to take extra care not to create any excess damage.

Just like the highlighting kit, this is a product I will most definitely be using again in the future.

I have since followed up with the blonde shade of my dreams and I honestly don't think I would have managed it without this kit first. If you are looking to dye your hair a pastel or maybe even a crazy colour, this would certainly be a great kit to use before hand.

This is the second of two self tanner reviews, the first was posted yesterday. :) 

 On Thursday I went swimming with my girls and I figured it would be the perfect night to try out a couple of new self tanners. Last Saturday we were given a little treat from Make Believe in our goody bags. 

The product we received was the self tan lotion in zone 3. (RRP £24.50)

 During my little swimming sesh I snuck into the sauna to give my skin a bit of a treat. When I got home, I jumped in the bath and exfoliated like crazy. My skin felt amazing. I then proceeded to smother myself in various lotions and potions to try and achieve a cracking glow for this bank holiday weekend.

Make Believe  

I decided to use the make believe tan on my legs. I felt as it the lotion was white and had no colour guide, this was probably best. My legs are the hardest part of me to tan, purely because due to previous jobs, I have a lot of dry skin in this area. 

Just like the Xen-Tan I posted about yesterday, I made sure to moisturise any areas I felt the tanner may have clung to. This included my knees and around my ankle/heel areas.

The lotion itself seemed to take a long time to soak in. I felt very tacky for about an hour after applying it, meaning I was walking around my house pretty much half naked until I felt I was able to put on a pair of loose fitting pjs. Other than this, the application was easy, I just felt you have to be very careful not to apply too much product to one area, and to make sure that it's all rubbed in. Circular motions really help in getting a result with no streaks. 

The Make Believe Lotion also had an amazing tropical fragrance. Extremely fruity and very pleasant to work with. None of the burnt biscuit scent here!

As you can see in the photos above, again the tanner started to develop within the hour, and by the time morning came around I had a very nice tan.

Even though I did moisturise, I found the product still managed to cling to some stubborn dry areas. This was remedied pretty easily just by exfoliating those areas again whilst in the shower. 

Just like the Xen-Tan from yesterday, I'm incredibly happy with the result of this product. The colour is maybe not as strong as the Xen- Tan, but it definitely natural looking and I couldn't see any streaks. 

Like I said before, this lotion is a zone 3. The zones run from 1 to 5 and each zone includes different products for different skin types/outcomes.

I'll be using every single drop of this bottle up, and I may even repurchase a zone 4, because you can't let the grey English clouds stop you from at least looking like you've been on an amazing holiday!!

You've probably all heard of ColourB4, a product which claims to strip hair of dye and colour build up!

I'd seen a ton of mixed reviews of the product myself, some claiming that it just turned their hair orange, some saying that their hair went back to being dark a few days after use and ever some claiming it was a miracle product.

About a week ago I saw that ColourB4 were asking for bloggers for reviews on twitter, I replied showing my interest and in return they supplied me with a box of the Extra strong treatment. 

Like I said, I was so scared to try it out, but I figured that seeing as I have been dying my hair since I was 13, it would be good to start a fresh. 

I read through all of the instructions and set to it, below is a video of the whole process.

As for the issues I had heard of before I trying this, I can set a few things straight. -This product will only turn your hair 'orange' because the dye you are trying to rid of has lightened your hair and contains red tones. Even the darkest of dyes lighten your hair to make sure the dark shade is as deep and shiny as can be. Therefore you will most probably not be able to achieve your actual natural shade.- You have to follow all of the steps and you must complete 3 ten minutes rinses when washing out the treatment and buffer. If you don't do this the colour molecules in your hair will expand again and the colour will darken. The rinsing process releases the shrunken molecules from your hair meaning that they are no longer present to expand. If you follow the instructions completely, this product works wonders.I absolutely loved the result, as you can seen from the video above, and I will most definitely be using it again. Like I said in the video, I did this to ensure that my new colour goes on nicer, and I will reveal that colour tomorrow!

Hi lovelies!

You probably all noticed that yet again I did not do a MM last week. This is plainly due to the fact that any make-up I had put on my face would have melted off in minutes, hence I didn't really bother, and I'm not too sure how many times you guys would want to see my bare face.

Now the weather is back to its normal English-ness, I present to you my mermaid eyes. This look started off with just some super simple green eyeliner with a bit of a wing. I then grabbed my Blush professional colour palette and just kept adding more and more colours. At first I thought I may have over done it a bit, but looking at these photos I actually falling in love with the bright eye. The mascara I used was Lancome Hypnose Drama in Extreme black.

I kept the lips simple with an ELF matte lip colour in natural and I added some gloss with the MUA love hearts lip balm in Sweet Lips. 

Let me know if you like this look, I may be inclined to film a tutorial for it as soon as my new brushes come.

Hi Lovelies!

You've probably all heard me having a little moan on twitter about being desperate for a holiday. Well, for the past three days, I've been on one, at home!

One of my best buddies came to visit and we indulged in doing lots of nothing, sitting in the sun in various park by various rivers, and eating lots of good food. 

It's just what I needed!! I know I didn't get that great feeling of being away from home, but I most certainly felt a lot more relaxed compared to normal. It was actually really nice not to have to think about blog posts for a couple of days, (not that I didn't miss it,) but just having some girly time was much needed.

Luckily, Leanne's a hairdresser and she kindly chopped my hair and got rid of my hideous rootage too, so after my lovely holiday at home I'm back to dedicating my time to you lovely people and I'm feeling great!

Today I'm revamping the layout and tidying some things up, but you can expect some good posts in the near future, I may also have some news soon, just keep all of your fingers crossed for me!

Wow, so this is a post that I had quite obviously forgotten and it was sitting in my drafts folder waiting to be finished. 

The MUA Intense colour eyeliners are amazing. At the moment I only have the above two colours, but I plan on getting a few of the other soon. 

These eyeliner pencils are incredibly soft, have amazing pigmentation and great longevity. Also another bonus I have found is that they are so easy to sharpen. Don't you just hate it when you have to fight with a pencil to get it sharp again. I sure do. 

These eyeliners are in the basic range and sell for £1 each. You can either purchase them at Superdrug or on their online store. They come in an array of colours such as orange and turquoise.

Hello Lovelies!!

If you read my last review on the "the cheek of it" blushes, you'll already know I am on the hunt for the three other shades in the collection. 

I came across the shade 'Perfect Pink' in my local factory outlet shop, they suddenly have a complete section with cheaper brands and discontinued lines from other drug store brands. 

In pan the colour is incredibly bright and I even had to question myself on whether I would actually use this blush, but seeing as I really wanted to try the other shades in the collection (and it was only £2) I bought it anyway.

Just as I thought it would be, the colour is very pigmented and very bright. I think it would look amazing sheered out with very simple eyes and lips. I think I'll definitely be using this more in the summer, so it won't get lost in the back of my collection for long.

    I'm sure you are probably get totally bored of all the lipstick posts I've been doing recently, so I promise I will lay off them abit for a while. Blame my lipstick obsession!

    This one was an impulse buy, I'd only popped into my supermarket for a few bits and got completely drawn in by the pretty make-up stands. It's the Collection 2000 Volume Sensation in Forever Heather. Yes it's another dark, wintery shade, but it wears incredibly well and your lips really do feel a slight tingle from the "volume" aspect of the lipstick. The reaction is nothing major, it's just a feeling as if you've scrubbed your lips with toothpaste. I will definately be buying more from Collection2000, it's a brand I used to wear alot, but fot eh past few years have neglected a little. At this particular moment in time though, it's ideally priced for my moneyless self.

Please excuse the random photo of me, I just wanted to show you the colour on. Bare in mind that this photo was taken a good three hours after application. It had barely budged and didn't need re-applying all night.

    Just a quick one to share this bargain with you. You've probably heard me mention the site cosmeticsfairy.co.uk, well during a mooch round the other day I came across this Rimmel Moisure Renew Lipstick in Violet Passion, for 75 pence! I read all of the details and found that it was a full sized, unused tester so instead of coming with the usual lid, it came with a pop on white cap. I didn't mind this at all, because hey, it was 75 pence! Obviously the photo shown on the website isn't actually the shade you receive, so before ordering I did do a quick search to see what the colour looks like.

Today has been a funny old day. I got up late because I really wasn't feeling very well, then Mischief had an epileptic fit, so I had to sit with her until she came round. When I finally decided she would be ok to be left, I tackled the mound of washing left for me. Wonderful!
Anywhooo, I thought I'd have some me time when I'd finished it all and decided to paint my nails.

I chose this colour from Barry M, but I've had it for an age and I don't know what the colour's called. The number on the bottle is 40 and the only two I can find on the website that are at all similar are gold, but this seems lighter than that, and the iridescent pink. I admit it is a little pink in some lights, but I think it's definitely more gold-ish.  It's one of my favourite colours at the moment and I'd really like to know what it's called for future reference. 

Can anyone help me find the name of this colour? Or is it the gold?

Bold Lips. 

     This is one make-up trend I have never really followed, until now. In my latest ELF haul, I purchased two lips colours, a studio matte lip colour in 'Natural', which isn't really for the bold look, but the other was their plumping lip glaze in 'Ruby Kiss', which is the most gorgeous deep red gloss. Now usually I wouldn't wear a gloss because personally I don't like the sticky feel, but the colour itself is enough to make me want to wear it.

One celeb to watch for bold lips is Lauren Conrad. The Hills beauty seems to be rarely without this statement look. From rich burgundys to hot pinks, LC always wears this look teamed with the perfect winged eyeliner.
