Hi my lovelies!

Another fresh faced Monday today, but as you can probably tell by the above photo, I've been working on something with my hair this morning. All will be revealed about that soon! 

Because I'm not wearing anything on my face, I thought I would share with you my new mermaid nails. I thought I would give the 'Water marbling with no water' technique a go and I absolutely love it. It's so easy! I don't feel like the photos do them justice! 

I hope you are all having a good Monday. I've now got to go and clean the oven at the old flat ( I'm wearing gloves of course!!)

For months and months I've been hoping to come across this little dupe of magnificence.

If they didn't have OPI Rainbow Connection, every blogger I know of had this. 

Carnival by Technic is an exact dupe for a much lower price tag. When Victoria of VIPXO blogged her ebay wishlist a few weeks back, I spotted this and knew I had to buy it there and then.

This is how I last chose to wear Carnival. My family were visiting our friends at the Circus (Jay Millers Circus, if they are ever near by you, I really recommend you go see the show,) and unfortunately I missed out. I felt this polish was the perfect way to add a little circus to my life, and I created a somewhat glitter ombre effect.

Oh my goodness. This post somehow got left behind in all the Christmas madness. This kit was previously given to my sister in law, but she admitted to herself that she would never use it and passed it on to me! The first thing that caught my eye was the cover of the packaging. It's stunning and now the empty box is standing on my dressing table.

The set contained a highlighter, a glitter eye liner, mascaras in black and brown, 8 loose pigments and 8 crème shadows. Also inside the box is a mirror and a tutorial to help you create a metallic smoky eye.

The crème shadows make for ideal bases to the pigments. Both are very sheer but together they give a nice colour. The pigments are filled with tons of sparkly reflects so fallout is inevitable, this is certainly something to watch out for when applying them. 

I can't say I've used these a whole lot since Christmas, but they will definitely get a lot more use in the summer.

Hi Lovelies!

You've all probably seen this before, but if you haven't, this nail varnish was in the December Glossybox. Due to the time of the month I subscribed I luckily received this box on Friday, so as you can imagine I'm quite excited, this means I get two boxes this month. Happy Sam. 

I absolutely adore this polish and it's sparkly-ness! It's thick enough to wear alone and I think a few coats would give you a nice coverage of glitter. The colour is a very deep pink, maybe even leaning more on the red side, but I think it's a very girly colour.

I used this polish as a top coat over a deep red Barry M polish just to make sure it was completely opaque. I found it took quite a while to dry and was a little bit rubbery although now it's entirely dry it seems like it's going to be quite hard wearing. I heard a few people say how difficult this polish was to get off due to the amount of glitter in it, so when the time comes, I shall come back and add a footnote of how I found it for myself. So far I love it, but if the rumours are true, it could be a deal breaker for me.

I totally thought it was about time I did a new nail post, it's been quite a while since I've done my last one. I'm still very much obsessed with having a feature nail, for me it's usually a different tone of the same colour, or a glitter polish. 

Are there any colours out there that you lovely people could recommend me?

Hi Lovelies! 

    I thought I'd give one of my new MUA nail varnishes a go this morning, I decided to try the beautiful green colour which is shade 13. 

Top - Without flash

    The colour itself is stunning, I'd say it's a rich emerald shade. In natural light the colour is very solid and has a metallic finish to it, but with the bright light of a flash, you can see the sparkle it creates. 

    I applied 3 coats to my nails, although 2 coats probably would have been plenty. The bottle gives you 6.2ml of product, which for a pound, it's hard to complain about, and the brush applicator is long and slightly flattened to help you achieve best coverage. 

   So far I am very pleased with this product, the only thing that will let me down, is if it doesn't wear very well, but so far so good, the nail varnish seems to be quiet hard wearing. (I normally chip my nails on the first day.) Much like other MUA products, I will definitely be buying more!

    If you follow me on twitter, you would have already seen that I had recently ordered some stuff from LUSH. I got the parcel today and I have to say the shipping was very quick. I received my 'your order has been shipped' email late yesterday afternoon and it arrived this morning. 

     I have never ordered from them online before as I've always had a store close by, but now the trek into Leeds City Center every other week is a bit much. I was very impressed with the packaging that my products came in. With a little message from LUSH, it was more than just your regular plain brown box.

   I ordered a butterball bath bomb and 100ml of the Snow Fairy shower gel because I totally wanted to see what all the hype was about this product! I have seen so many reviews on it, I thought it's got to be good!

     I was really happy to find on my order review, information about the Ecoflo packaging they use. This just backs up their claims to be a very organic and ethical company.

    Me being me, I had to test the packaging, and just as it said, it does dissolve in water. 

   

     On the inside of the box were also ways to recycle all of the other packaging the company uses, from recycling the box itself, to collecting the black pots, returning 5 to a LUSH store and receiving a free fresh facemask.

     Also inside was the LUSH times newspaper, I had a quick flick through this morning but I really want to sit down and have a proper read.

Butterball Bath Bomb

    I have tried a good few LUSH bath bombs in my time, but I have never tried this one and I really wish I would have sooner! The smell is just amazing and even 5 hours after my bath, I can still smell the gorgeous vanilla and cocoa butter scent on my skin. When you drop it into your bath it fizzes away, leaving not only its beautiful smell but also the oil from the cocoa butter sits on top of the water. In my past experience, I have always found bath bombs to dry out your skin, but this does the complete opposite. When you're relaxing in your bath you can feel the oil on your skin, leaving you really moisturized when you get out. In no means does it feel greasy, just very smooth and soft. 

    I can definitely say that I will be buying this product again, probably as soon as next week in fact! I think I may even have to stock up on these babies. 

Snow Fairy Shower Gel

    As I said earlier in this post, I bought this product out of curiosity and I really haven't been disappointed! I can now safely agree with any other review I have read. The sweet smell of candyfloss and pears drops is quite a strong one, so maybe it isn't good for daily use, but it's great for when you want a sweet, girly scent throughout the day. I adore the colour of the shower gel and the addition of blue glitter is enough to make any sparkle loving person weak at the knees.
    I haven't used this product yet, but as it's LUSH, I can't say that I am going to be unhappy with it at all. If you can get your hands on a bottle of this beauty, buy it there and then. You'll love it!

I've been seeing lots of manicures recently consisting of two colours, one being purely on the ring finger. I wanted to give it a go, but thought I'd add a little twist and use glitter for on ring finger instead. 

Here's a step by step photo tutorial for anyone who would like to give it a go. 

 - Paint a colour similar to your glitter onto your ring finger.

 - Use a damp cotton bud to dab on the glitter, do this before the nail polish dries.

 - Paint a coat of clear nail polish on top and repeat step 2. Wait til dry, then apply your top coat.

 - Paint the rest of your fingers in your second choice of colour. 

 Easy peazy!

I used a green fine glitter, ELF nail polish in mint cream and a Barry M Glitter Top Coat.
