It seems everyone and their aunt knows that NYX blush in Taupe makes for a great contour shade. I've been on the hunt for it for so long, but the only time I have ever come across it happened to be the one time I had zero pennies to my name.
My local Cosmetics store, (I believe that's actually the name of the shop? I could be wrong.) has a fab NYX range, but I find that they are a bit slow on renewing stock. Anywho, I decided to try the shade Stone instead and I'm glad I did.
Stone is still quite a bronzy colour, and on lighter skin tones may still come across quite orange; but on my skin it seems to be perfect. It's not muddy looking, doesn't make me look tangoed and because it is actually a blush, I find that it looks great on its own too. I'm putting this is down to the fact that it's a rather deep colour and matte. If it contained shimmer, I think it'd be a whole different story.
The product itself applies like a dream. You can use it lightly to add a touch of colour, or continue to build it up for a really strong contour. Start off softly and work up to something you feel comfortable with.
If you're struggling to find taupe yourself and don't mind a slightly warmer shade, maybe give this a go. Like I said, I'm not sure how it would look on the palest of skin, but I'm certainly not the most tanned.
For reference, I'm wearing it in my latest Monday Make-up post here.
