this week in photos, this weeks highlights, instagram, catch up, whenflowersfall

Yup, another series is being resurrected. I know a lot of people do these kinds of posts now, but I figured it would be a great one to look back on in a few months time. Also, if you don't have/follow me on Instagram, then it's a good way to catch up with my life stuffs.

1. We've really gotten back into using our cloth nappies. We fell into a bit of a disposable habit and it was not only becoming an expensive one, but we were also putting out far more rubbish each week. Now all I need to do, is get used to the stuffing again. Does anyone else hate the stuffing part?

2. Scout has been a bit all over with his naps this week. It's not all been his fault. We've had to be out of the house a couple of times, and he just sleeps where he can. On Tuesday he crashed in the car after we had our new tyre fitted, so of course I sat in the car, outside the house with him for an hour. How could I move that sweet little snoozer?

3. Attack of the pasta bake happened again. Scout loves it, and the majority of the time it ends up all over his face. Hey, at least he didn't rub it in his eyes this time.

4. I've been feeling some major wanderlust this week. We haven't had a holiday for over 4 years and I'm in dire need of some actual sunshine. Because of this, I have vowed to save half of my money each month until we can afford to go away. It probably won't be abroad for the first holibob, but somewhere other than stinky Chatham would be a lovely change of scenery.

5. Again with Scout and his naps. This is how he fell asleep twice this week. He wants to stand 24/7, even when he's meant to be going to sleep. Turns out he just couldn't fight it hard enough this time.

6. I've really gotten into this planning malarky. I've made a little start on Scout's scrapbook, (more of that to come soon,) and I'm constantly looking for new things I can add into this little obsession of mine.

7. This week I've also really struggled with a lot. I've felt really overwhelmed with looking after Scout, and juggling all of the housework/blogging/youtube etc. My routine wasn't followed brilliantly so I'm thinking that's why.

8. We did, on the other hand, have two full nights sleep with Scout. As I'm writing this, I have every thing crossed for a third. Only time will tell if we've finally cracked it where sleep is concerned.

9. Bargain of the week? A bright orange knitted cardi from Primark. Only £3 down from £16!

10. I've had the realisation that Scout has grown so much. In this picture he had just stolen Liam's hat and wasn't happy unless it was on his head.

11. Today, Liam took the reigns and I've had a complete me day. It was so needed and I haven't actually had a day like this since before Scout was born. We've now decided to make it a regular thing as I feel totally relaxed and refreshed, for the first time in nearly nine months!!

12. So as well as taking the dog for a walk, I had an hour long bath, painted my nails and filmed this weeks YouTube videos without feeling rushed. It's been bliss.
Now, it's time for two very heavy work weeks for Liam. Let's see how relaxed I feel when they're done.

Find me on

Well, howdy doo my little beauties.

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts and videos etc. Especially when I kept saying that it would be back to normal.

I've spent a lot of time since turning 23 feeling pretty pants if I'm honest. Without trying to sound dramatic, I had a bit of a mini breakdown a few days ago. I was very much struggling with keeping my mood high, and after visiting family in the past couple of weeks, I felt I knew what I was really missing.

At the end of the day, I know a lot of my low moods and 'feeling bad' days are down to my depression/anxiety, so I know that things will always be getting better.
I'm at a stage now that I feel like I'm finally feeling somewhat 'normal', in a sense that I can now leave the house on my own, go to the shop, go to meet-ups etc. All things I wouldn't even have thought about this time two years ago. But, the biggest issue for me is still work. After being out of work for these past two years, I'm now feeling really frustrated that this is my only problem that hasn't really been helped by the medication I have been taking. I would love to get back to work, but deep down, in the pits of my stomach I know that I would still have huge issues to get up and go, that's if I did manage to get through interviews etc first.

I've been looking online recently and I feel sick doing it, but I'm hoping that one day a job will pop up and my head will finally shout loud enough to be heard over the beating of my heart. If I'm going to push myself to get through this, I want it to be for a job that I'm passionate about, something that I know I will enjoy doing. Which, if I'm completely honest, I haven't had for a very long time. All jobs I've applied for before have been because I felt like I had to. Money pressures and such like. Those pressures are still very much there, but now the understanding of my issues is there too, it seems a lot easier to focus on what's important.

So, after that very long winded catch up on me, I now want to get myself back to feeling good. I've spent these past couple of weeks feeling really cruddy and I've just let it happen. This week I am bringing back Friday Fitness, a new diet (I've fit my highest weight :S ), and hopefully regular videos.
Blogging and Youtube is something that I love with all my heart and if it bought in pennies, I would make it my job, but that's really a longterm goal. Not exactly something that can happen over night. So, I'm now going to throw myself back into it, stop rambling and get on with today's actual post!
Well done to you if you managed to get through that lot!

Please excuse the grainy iPad photo, the Mr stole my camera this weekend and it needs charging.

I chose to keep today's face light, only using Benefit's Fakeup in Light and Medium as my base. If you're having a good skin day, it's amazing.
On my eyes, I'm wearing maybelline colour tattoo in 'Light in purple' and 'Turquoise forever' on my top lid, and MUA single shadow in Shade 10 smudged on my lower lash line. I'm wearing Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara and 'Guipure' from my Sleek blush by 3 palette on my cheeks.
On my lips is just The Body Shop lipgloss in watermelon.

As you can probably see, my eyebrows are in a somewhat appalling state at the minute and you will see a post on them coming up within the next week.

I hope you've all been really well!

Well, hello you lovely ones!

It's been a really long ten days or so since I last posted. Liam had two weeks off from work and we most definitely made the most of it.

Last weekend, we spent a couple of nights at The Double Trees Hilton hotel in Leeds and enjoyed some meals out and a day of shopping. (Even though I didn't buy much at all! If you follow me on twitter, you would have seen me moaning.)
The stay was amazingly relaxed and I really felt as though we were on holiday, when really we were a twenty minute train journey from home.

This Friday just gone, my sister and niece came to visit. With them living on the coast of West Wales, I barely ever seen them and with it coming up to a year we thought it was time for a visit. My niece Lily had just turned one last time I saw her, and this time she was twice the size, twice as talkative and twice as adorable! My sister spent a couple of days here with me and then left Lily with her Aunty Sammi whilst she attended a work course up in York.
She may be an energetic nearly two year old, but I had the best two days. I laughed so much at her silly little character, and my heart melted on Monday night when she fell asleep in my arms after a busy day of swimming.
It sounds silly, but the best part had to be hearing her shouting 'Saaaammmiii, Saaaammmmiiii,' when she woke up first thing in the morning.
I cried buckets when they left for home last night.

So after a pretty long break, When Flowers Fall is now back to taking priority.
We will have a new addition to the family within the next month, and with this will come a new feature on the blog. Keep your eyes peeled.
I'm also hoping to get back into filming for WFF on YouTube, I think by now, I've had a month or so off, time to clear my head, and even though in that time I received my first negative comment, I feel now is the time to get back into it.

I have missed you all bundles and I hope you're all really well!!
What have I missed???

Happy Sunday, my loves!

Sorry I've been a little MIA for the past couple of days. We finally got some sunshine and I felt the need to take a little time out and make the most of it.

A quick Friday Fitday update, just because I missed it. I only managed to walk seven miles this week due to the fact that my trainers have created rather large holes in the back of my heels. But, my last walk wasn't far off 5 miles, which as you all know, is my daily walk goal so I'm chuffed with that.

The last few days I've spent a lot of time with my girls, lying in the sun, going to the park and lying in the sun. Yep, told you I hadn't really done much this week. Haha.

The photo of the rainbow above is actually something I saw as I was laying on the grass, the rainbow was right across the sky, in the sky, not like you would normally them. I can only guess that it was raining way up there in the clouds. It was possibly the most beautiful thing I've seen in a while.

I hope you all have had a great week, how many of you will be tuning in to watch the Spice Girls perform in the closing ceremony of the Olympics tonight?

Hi my loves!
Hope you've all had a fab week!
This week I started focussing on my health. I don't want to go on about it too much, but if you would like to find out more on that subject, make sure to go back and have a read of this weeks Friday Fitday. I've done a lot of walking and a lot less eating. That was until this weekend, I started with a salad feast whilst watching the Olympics opening ceremony and I've ended this weekend with a box of 12 Krispy Kreme doughnuts courtesy of Liams Ma and Pa. (I most definitely shared them!!)
As of tomorrow I am back on the walking, and on Tuesday Liam and I are starting a whole new health kick chapter. It's going to be a hard one but I think it will come with a lot of great results. I'll post more about that on Friday.
As you can see from the photos above, we finally have our ferret babies back and now we just have to get used to having their furry faces around again. I can't believe we have been a whole year without them. (We weren't aloud them in the flat.)
Anywhoooooo, I'm off to have a soak in the bath. I love our new bath tub!
Enjoy the rest of your Sundays!

Excited for We The Kings / New laptop fun / Being money savvy / Chocolate craving
Cuddly Snake / New curtains stage 1 / Fried yummy goodness / Cute cat
Evil cat / A much need hug / Curtains stage 2 / More eczema?
Missing my niece / Cute cat pt 2 / My home / Finished curtains.

Hi my lovelies!
First off I'd like to apologise for my lack of posting, even though I know have a new laptop now, I've noticed the effect of not having one has had on WFF traffic. I feel a little down about it as there was nothing I could have done about it at the time and now unfortunately I'm finding it difficult to get motivation. That's not saying I want to give up on WFF, far from it, it's my little baby. I just feel like all my hard work for the past long few months have been undone by the unfortunate events of the last one.
I am going to try and get back into my good old blogging routine this week as I'm trying to make a few changes in my life. One is to be more organised. This means you can all expect Monday make-up to return, and also Friday fit day will make an appearance again because this is another of my life changes.
Anywhoooo, this week I've spent a lot of time getting to know our new friends, cuddling my cats and working on this weeks DIY project. I've randomly decided I wanted to change the colour theme in my bedroom and the first port of call was the curtains. I figured it would be tons cheaper to dye them rather than buying new ones, so that's what I did. I bleached the hell out of them for four hours and then spent another 4fourdying them the amazing violet colour you see in the photos above. I was a little dubious as to how they would turn out because Dylon dye claims it may not dye over bleach stains, but it worked and I don't think it could have come out any better. :)
Like I said, next week should be back to more of my regular blogging schedule and I hope to see more of you returning to WFF in the future.
Hope you all have a cracking bank holiday weekend. Keep your eyes peeled on my Youtube channel, I'm thinking of vlogging the We The Kings gig. :)
