Focus on the texture of your outfit, complement cold, smooth leather with a soft touch me jumper, or even clash the demure look of black lace with a piece of spiky jewellery.

With winter rearing it's ugly head more every day, most people jump at the chance to fill their wardrobes with chunky knits, wooly scarves and winter boots, but this season we have seen a big come back for velvet. With it's luxe look and soft to the touch qualities, it's make any item a perfect winter staple. 

This winter, Topshop has a massive collection of velvet items for sale, from simple ballet pumps, to fetish style corset tops. Personally, I am in love with the red dress you can see in the center (above). Top colour picks this season are deep reds, royal blues and jewel tones. There's something for everybody.
