instaweek, this week in photos, this weeks highlights, whenflowersfall, instagram,

Helloooo, Sunshines!

What a strange old week it has been; and a stressful one at that.
Last Sunday saw us rushing Scout to A&E after a fight with a solid wood table. He totally lost his footing whilst playing and smacked his head directly on the corner. The swelling came out pretty quickly, but as with any head injury, we wanted it seen to as quick as possible. The hospital were great and saw him within an hour.

We did notice whilst there, that there were very little toys in the children's waiting room. It just didn't make sense to me, as I couldn't imagine Scout every sitting still whilst waiting to be seen for anything. We were lucky to go whilst it was quiet, but add an extra couple of hours onto our wait, and he would have been a very bored child. I decided to do something about it, and arranged a collection of donations from families in the local area. I then spent over an hour on Wednesday cleaning said toys. We are taking them to the hospital as soon as we get a moment.

With the abundance of new toys in the house, we've discovered that Scout loves cars and trucks, so he got to switch out one of his donations for this green dump truck. He's loving driving it up against our lovely freshly painted walls.
He's also discovered the fun that is our glasses. It's rare that we get to keep them on our faces at the minute.

I decided to brighten a boring week by refreshing my pink hair, and boy is it refreshed. More on the product I used to come.

Back to Scout... He's been taken some short naps this week. I'm hoping it's just a phase and we get our nice two plus hour naps back soon. On Friday, he woke up after forty minutes and regretted his decision.

We picked up a Munchkin 360 cup for him to use too this week. He's always trying to grab our drinks, so figured it would be a good time to try the magical voodoo that is this cup. Seriously, it's amazing.

We also dug our his first pair of Converse trainers. His Grammy picked the wrong size out by mistake when he was tiny, but they finally fit, and boy do they look cute!!

And finally, I got a whole day to myself to get some 'Sam stuff' done. I've planned and filmed a few videos, written a few blog posts (including this one), and relaxed. It's just what I needed unwind. As I write this, the boys are in town and I'm in an empty house, alone with the animals. I love my boys, but this is a moment on once in a while bliss.

What have you been up to this week. Leave your Instagram names down below, I'm always on the hunt for new accounts to follow.

It's been a fair while since I last did one of these posts. So, I figured I would get back to it and share a bit of life with you guys.
Unfortunately, this week has been pretty boring.
I've just started to really get into the designing part of the new WFF website. It's all pictures and prettiness at the minute, and I'm now waiting for Liam to have a spare moment or six to get some coding done. Fingers crossed it'll be finished by the end of summer.

Scout got sick at the beginning of the week, and what we thought was a fever from him teething, turned out to be the roseola virus. His little belly got all blotchy and he wasn't a very happy bub. Thankfully he got past it pretty quickly though, and shouldn't get it again. Another couple of Scouty updates; he looooooves broccoli, and is now wanting to drink from cups without lids. Cue puddles of water dotted around my house.

Liam and I celebrated our sixth year together,  he gave me a beautiful ring from my favourites over at Bloody Mary Metal.

I started cycling again, and am really enjoying it. As a matter of fact, I should probably be doing that now instead of writing this post.

Aaaand finally, we started decorating our living room. We picked out a gorgeous warm grey shade of paint that could almost be classed as a heather purple, and we love it. What we don't love is the giant crack in the plaster we discovered last night under the wallpaper. It all had to come off the wall, and we are making a trip to B&Q shortly to get some stuff to patch it up. Yaaaay.

So, how was your week?

this week in photos, this weeks highlights, instagram, catch up, whenflowersfall

Yup, another series is being resurrected. I know a lot of people do these kinds of posts now, but I figured it would be a great one to look back on in a few months time. Also, if you don't have/follow me on Instagram, then it's a good way to catch up with my life stuffs.

1. We've really gotten back into using our cloth nappies. We fell into a bit of a disposable habit and it was not only becoming an expensive one, but we were also putting out far more rubbish each week. Now all I need to do, is get used to the stuffing again. Does anyone else hate the stuffing part?

2. Scout has been a bit all over with his naps this week. It's not all been his fault. We've had to be out of the house a couple of times, and he just sleeps where he can. On Tuesday he crashed in the car after we had our new tyre fitted, so of course I sat in the car, outside the house with him for an hour. How could I move that sweet little snoozer?

3. Attack of the pasta bake happened again. Scout loves it, and the majority of the time it ends up all over his face. Hey, at least he didn't rub it in his eyes this time.

4. I've been feeling some major wanderlust this week. We haven't had a holiday for over 4 years and I'm in dire need of some actual sunshine. Because of this, I have vowed to save half of my money each month until we can afford to go away. It probably won't be abroad for the first holibob, but somewhere other than stinky Chatham would be a lovely change of scenery.

5. Again with Scout and his naps. This is how he fell asleep twice this week. He wants to stand 24/7, even when he's meant to be going to sleep. Turns out he just couldn't fight it hard enough this time.

6. I've really gotten into this planning malarky. I've made a little start on Scout's scrapbook, (more of that to come soon,) and I'm constantly looking for new things I can add into this little obsession of mine.

7. This week I've also really struggled with a lot. I've felt really overwhelmed with looking after Scout, and juggling all of the housework/blogging/youtube etc. My routine wasn't followed brilliantly so I'm thinking that's why.

8. We did, on the other hand, have two full nights sleep with Scout. As I'm writing this, I have every thing crossed for a third. Only time will tell if we've finally cracked it where sleep is concerned.

9. Bargain of the week? A bright orange knitted cardi from Primark. Only £3 down from £16!

10. I've had the realisation that Scout has grown so much. In this picture he had just stolen Liam's hat and wasn't happy unless it was on his head.

11. Today, Liam took the reigns and I've had a complete me day. It was so needed and I haven't actually had a day like this since before Scout was born. We've now decided to make it a regular thing as I feel totally relaxed and refreshed, for the first time in nearly nine months!!

12. So as well as taking the dog for a walk, I had an hour long bath, painted my nails and filmed this weeks YouTube videos without feeling rushed. It's been bliss.
Now, it's time for two very heavy work weeks for Liam. Let's see how relaxed I feel when they're done.

A sick week in the Jones household this week.
It's been pretty slow going, but thankfully I've started to feel better, so it's only Liam that's really ill now.

1- Scout has discovered that being on his belly is more fun than on his back. He's also trying to get his knees underneath him, so I think we may have a crawler by Christmas.
2- I managed to find a little time to sit down and start adding some photo's to Scout's memory book.
3- We also discovered that he dislikes hats. A lot.
4- Trying to eat healthier,, (yes ignore the pop tarts) we decided to do a Tesco run. This tiny amount of food cost us £40!!! We'll be going to Aldi from now on.
5- Teething has hit Scout hard this week. He dribbling everywhere, his hands are constantly in his mouth and absolutely nothing can soothe him at times. It's been tough.
6- Because of that, he hasn't been napping all too great. Laying next to him has been one way tp get him to sleep. Not so great for me getting things done in the house.
7- Snuggles have been a very big part of this week.
8- On day three of my new healthy eating kick, I found the wonder that is Nakd. I have a new obsession.

What have you guys been up to this week?

Hellooo!

Last week I decided to take a little week off from both blogging and making videos for my main youtube channel. Since having Scout, I've noticed how hard I've found to not only find time for these things, but how much I lacked inspiration for them too. I mean, don't get me wrong, I really miss being able to sit and write or film when ever I want to; but when I did get a chance, I just didn't know what to talk about.
This week off has been pretty successful in getting my creative juices flowing again, and I'm excited to finally be back on my game with WhenFlowersFall...or whatever this will be called. (More to come on that tomorrow.)
I figured my first post back should be a little catch up; something nice and light, just to get my brain in the mood  to write again. So this is what's been keeping me busy this week.

1. Little bear is doing really well with his tummy time. Not only is his neck getting really strong, but he also wants to be constantly sat upright or standing up.
2. He's also discovered his hands and they are now always in his mouth. The dummy has become his second best.
3. Last Sunday night I had a really bad pain again. I'm not sure I've mentioned much about it on here, but I've talked about it a lot on twitter. Because of this, I woke up feeling really ill Monday morning and Liam took the day off work to help out with Scout.
4. We've starting making a conscious effort to give more attention to the animals. Something that's been lacking since Scout was born.
5. Scout's sleeping is still very hit or miss. This particular photo was taken after a bad night. He was only sleeping in ten minute bursts. I was one tired Mama.
6. We were without hot water for four long, stinky days. Our boiler decided to pack in and it didn't get fixed until Thursday. Strip washes just don't make you feel clean!
7. I'm still on mission weight loss. Again, there will be more on that in a future post. But this is now my usual breakfast of choice.
8. Not only has Scoutman discovered his hands, but he's also started mastering how to get other objects into his mouth too.
9. On Friday we started the bank holiday weekend off the right way. With a long doggy walk...
10. ...and a big fatty meal out. What's that about a diet??
11. Today we've really seen Scout's personality start to shine. He finds so many things funny now, but we're still waiting to hear that first giggle.
12. Yesterday we had a little road trip to see a couple of friends. The boys had the babies, whilst Steph and I went to have our nails done. I didn't even think to post a photo of them until today. As a usual lover of acrylics, I'm rather liking the gel manicure I had done.

It's weird how much I've enjoyed writing this post. I know it's not much, but it's made me feel like I've accomplished something today. Something I really don't feel all too often any more.
So I'm sorry for disappearing again. It sure is heart breaking watching the daily view count drop dramatically each day there's no new post; but it was much needed and hopefully things will be on a good roll from now on. There will be a few new weekly or bi-weekly features and if I have my own way, there will be some new creative posts coming in the future too.

I hope you've all been really well. I know it's only been a week or so, but it feels like I've been away for ever.

Well, helloooo!

Finding time to write this post has been mighty hard this week.
I have so many plans and ideas for both the blog and my youtube channel, and at the moment I just don't seem to have the time to fulfil them. Scout has his good days and bad, but he's still having regular growth spurts and they usually knock everything off kilter.

The past week has been pretty much more of the same old, same old. Scout is growing well and his personality is really shining through now. No matter what, he always wake up with a smile.
I've just taken out all of the clothes that he's grown out of already and I can't believe how much of it he didn't get to wear. He's just grown so fast!
I've popped a few bits over on my Depop account (@whenflowersfall) if you fancy a look. There's also some of my bits on there too. Shoes, bags, dresses etc.

I'm still on a mission to 'recreate' myself and I've been eyeing up so many pieces. I've also discovered some new companies and brands, so keep your eyes peeled as I'm starting a new feature about them on here soon.

Other than that, we've been busy trying to finish all of the jobs that we've been putting off for a few weeks due to baby. The car was in for it's service on Saturday and it's going back in another two times in the next months for it's suspension and MOT. Ergh! The joys of car ownership.

Anywhooo, I hope you are all doing really well. It's sad to see the views for my blog dropping like flies whilst I haven't had time to post, but it's made me so much more eager to find and make time. I say it a lot, but I really do miss it and I'm dying to get things back to normal.

This past week has been better than the last. Scout seems to have come out of his growth spurt, and is once again a happier chappy. I've found since he's come out of the other side of it, he seems to be nappy a bit more during the day; which makes things a whole ton easier on me as I don't have to be holding him 24/7. I do on the other hand have to be sitting in front of him bouncing his bouncer. If I stop, he wakes up.
We managed to finally hit 200 subscribers on the DailyJones channel, which is pretty amazing for us as we've been doing it for over a year now. After feeling a bit down about the channels growth, it's made me want to put more effort into it can continue with the daily vlogs.
Other stuff we have done this week has included coffee in the sun in Rochester and a day in the park at a family fun day run by Liam's work. The day was filled with free hotdogs, free icecream and a bouncy castle; amongst other things.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this week as we're staying in a hotel again tomorrow evening, seeing Liam's parents at the same time; and then Liam will be working from home on Wednesday.

This past week has been one of the hardest since the very first two weeks of Scout's life.
Whether it was down to hormones or lack of sleep, I just felt incredibly low and found each day a complete struggle. Scout has been pretty awesome though. Since discovering how to smile at 4 weeks old, he hasn't really stopped. Unless that is, when he's screaming his little head off. We actually ended up taking him to the doctors on Friday to see about the possibility of him having reflux. All of the symptoms read familiar and the doctor agreed with us. Since then, we have been giving him infant gaviscon and it has seemed to help quite a bit. He now happily lies on his back without struggling too much and he's no longer trying to constantly swallow what is in his throat. We think he's been having a growth spurt this weekend. He's been really groggy and super needy, but we can see differences in him each day.
Liam and I had our 5 year anniversary yesterday, hence this post didn't get written then; and although we didn't do anything to celebrate, I can honestly say that I am so thankful to have him in my life. When he's not at work he helps with Scout, giving me a break so I can get things like this and my youtube videos done. It really makes me wonder how single parents do it. I have nothing but respect for anyone who does.
Today has been much easier. I think my body is slowly getting used to the broken sleep and baby screaming. Everyone kept telling me that things get easier after six weeks, and I really hope they're right.

lifestyle, whenflowersfall, this week in photos, instagram,

This week I've really tried to reduce the amount of baby photos that I'm posting on instagram. I'm fully aware of how many I've posted since Scout was born and it's not a small amount.

- We spent some time this week trying to get things back to some kind of normality. Liam suggested eating out at lunch a couple of times during the week, and it's really helped break my days up. Sitting, feeding a baby for hours on end and not doing much else can sometimes get a little tough.

- We also spent a night in a hotel with Liam's parents. I indulged in my first alcoholic drink for ten months, and despite drinking a pint of cider and two glasses of wine, I didn't even get the slightest bit tipsy. Disappointed, much!

- I've spent some time getting back to doing the things I enjoy. I've managed to film a couple of videos for my main channel and I've even scheduled a few blog posts. It feels so good to be able to sit down and write again. Hopefully I can continue to fit my hobbies in with being a Mummy.

I'm going to try and make these a regular post every Sunday, so if you don't follow me on instagram, you can catch up with me here each week.
