A few weeks back I was contacted by the lovely people over at John Frieda, asking if I would like to try a couple of items their new Luxurious Volume for colour treated hair. 

As I've reviewed a couple of products for John Frieda in the past and loved them, I snapped up the chance. A few days later these appeared at my door and I began to use them that evening. 

Both the Touchably Full shampoo* and conditioner* are amazing. Just starting with the gorgeously bright packaging, its eye catching and attention grabbing. I would certainly have a look at them if I saw them on a shelf in a shop. 

The shampoo is completely clear and smells like watermelon! I just asked Liam if he agreed, as I didn't want to claim something if it was just my pregnant nose playing tricks on me, but it does! The product lathers up incredibly fast and I've found a little goes a long way. It's very easy to wash out, leaves no residue and leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean. 

The conditioner is a white formula, again with a gorgeously fresh scent. I'd still say it was watermelon-y but it's certainly not as strong and noticeable as the shampoo. Again, a little goes a long way, which for me is a huge bonus point. We all know that conditioner always runs out before shampoo does. The product is easy to work through the hair, remove tangles and again is really easy to wash out.

 After using both of the products for a good while, I can safely say that I think these are a new strong favourite of mine. Being that they are formulated for colour treated hair, my easy to fade blue has stayed vibrant; and I've noticed a significant difference with the amount of colour being washed down the drain each time I shower. These products claim to keep the texture of fresh colour and I agree with that 100%. My hair has been incredibly dry and difficult to manage since both being pregnant, and bleaching the ends to achieve the blue; but since using these my hair has been both soft and shiny. Volume wise, I have noticed a difference since using these products. My hair is quite thick and can generally lie really flat and lifeless, but recently I've felt it has a touch more bounce and looks like it has plenty of life.

The All-day Hold hairspray* gives everything I would expect from a hairspray. The mist is fine and doesn't leave your hair feeling sticky or crunchy, it holds the hair and doesn't cause a style to drop during the day. Also, the scent isn't too overpowering, which is always a good thing in my books. I've used this many times and it really does help keep any volume you have in your hair without weighing it down.

Before all of the moving hubbub that has happened in the past few weeks, I was lucky enough to receive a few products from the fabulous Neal & Wolf to review. I've always heard great things about this brand and I have had one or two sample sachets to try in the past. But if I'm entirely honest, it's never really been enough to get a real feel for the products. Like I said, I have had these in my possession for a few weeks and this review has been a long time coming. (I was trying so hard to find time before the move, and then we had no internet!) I can now tell you that I absolutely adore all of the goodies I received, and will most certainly be repurchasing from Neal & Wolf. RITUAL Daily Cleansing Shampoo  - £10.95

This shampoo is designed to cleanse the hair, leaving it sleek, shiny and ready to style. With the help of silk and milk proteins it helps to boost vital moisture in damaged hair and even reduces flyaways. I have been using this shampoo roughly two – three times a week, and I can certainly vouch for all of the claims above. My damaged ends are a whole ton healthier, my hair no longer feels frizzy after washing and I’ve also noticed the growth has just sprouted out of nowhere. After colour and heat treating my hair for years, it has taken me a good three years to get to the length I’m at now from a pixie cut. My hair does not like to grow. But recently my roots has just appeared, and I can only put it down to this shampoo and the other amazing products I’m about to mention. 

 HARMONY Intensive Care Treatment - £12.95

 This blend of intensive conditions has been specially created for damaged hair. It claims to deliver an instant transformation, leaving your hair with a different texture and appearance after use. As with most conditions, I apply this after shampooing and leave for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. I find with most intensive/strong conditions that I usually have a huge issue with residue left in my hair, even after standing under the shower for what seems like a lifetime. With this I have no problem at all. You can really feel that after a rinse, your hair is clean, smooth and sooo soft! I know you aren’t meant to brush your hair when it’s wet, but I hold my hands up to being a repeat offender of this. Again, usually I would struggle, but this treatment means that my comb or brush just slides right on through. This is probably a huge factor as to why my hair is in such good shape. SILK Smoothing Blow-dry Balm - £11.95

This is an after shower, wheat protein complex that will put an end to frizz and tangles. It provides moisture, balance and manageability where it’s needed. The directions say to apply to damp hair prior to blow drying, but I did find that an example of amount may have been handy. My first couple of attempts I was left with slightly heavier hair than normal. I can only put this down to using too much of this product. After I had figured out that I only need to use a pea or two sized amount on my length of hair, I fell in love. Not only does it smell incredibly, just as all of the products, but it really does make blow drying your hair a whole lot easier. If I have time, I usually like to section my hair and use a round brush to give a proper blow dried finish, but thanks to this lotion, for days when I’m in a hurry, I can just pop this on, whizz over the hair dryer and go. I don’t even feel the need to straighten my hair most days, all due to the fact that my hair is lying so sleek and flat. There will be no more bushy haired Sam! 

GUARD Heat Protection - £10.95

My final product is one that I am guilty of not using very often, until now. The heat protection spray contains silk protein, and helps to lock in moisture and protect hair against heat up to 220°C. The spray can be used on both wet and dry hair, meaning you can also use this before blow drying if you don’t have any of the above treatment. Even though I have now lessened my straightener usage, I do reach for this even time I pick up those burny hot beasts. I think I can safely say that I now understand the importance of a good heat protectant. Again, my hair feels and looks the best it has in a long time. 

 So as a conclusion, I’m now a huge fan of Neal & Wolf. All of the good things you hear are true and I will definitely be trying out a few more products in the future. If I’m completely honest, even if these products weren’t as great as they actually are, I would have loved them for their scent alone. If you could bottle it and turn it into a room spray, I would be on it like a mad woman. After using them twice to three times a week, my shampoo and conditioner are still going strong and I probably have a good week, maybe two’s worth of product left. As for the other two items, I feel they aren’t going to run out any time soon, meaning all of these products are fantastic value for money. If you do have damaged hair like myself, or maybe even struggling to get it past a certain length, give a couple of these a go! You may just get the same result I have. A head full of roots!*

I was lucky enough to be contacted by the lovely Patti the other day asking if I would like to try out some John Frieda Products. As I never have, I jumped at the chance. 

We exchanged a couple of emails and I told her my hair type, and the fact that I am a self confessed hair dying addict. The next day, a beautiful green box turned up at my door with the following products. 

Full Repair - Full Body Shampoo and Conditioner*

The full repair is just perfect for my hair type. After 8 years and many different hair colours, my hair is always in need of some repair. 

Both the shampoo and conditioner contain Inca Inchi oil rich in omega-3. The products claim to 'repair the look and feel of overstyled hair as it weightlessly restores bounce.' They also detangle the hair, reducing the risk of breaking and snagging. 

One thing I love about these products, is that they are completely fine for use on coloured hair. I'm constantly on the look out for a shampoo and conditioner that doesn't fade my current colour, and this covers it. 

I'm not one for washing my hair every day, more so every other or every third day so I've given these a good couple of goes before writing this review. 

The shampoo lathers well and I feel you don't need a whole lot to really feel like it cleans your hair. I have quite thick hair so usually I have to use quite a bit. With the full repair shampoo, you're definitely getting your moneys worth. 

The conditioner is the same. A little goes a long way but you still feel the benefits. You can either leave it on for a couple of minutes, then rinse, or you could leave it on for five minutes or so and get more of an intensive repair.

The conditioner also washes out really well, leaving no residue in the hair.

I definitely feel my hair both looks and feels much healthier since using these products. Visible split ends have been reduced and my hair is also incredibly easy to brush through. 

Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Intensive Masque*

This deep treatmean mask contains avocado oil. It visibly repairs and fortifies dry, damaged and frizzy hair to help protect against breakage. Perfect for me. 

I tested this product after a heavy night of bleaching and dying my hair to a new blonde colour. I thought it would be the perfect time to try it out, and it really didn't disappoint. Usually after bleaching, hair can be straw like and difficult to manage. But after using this hair mask my hair was soft, silky and shiny. I had no issues with getting a brush through it and it still looked incredibly healthy. 

I usually find I can't use hair masks without having residue left in my hair after rinsing. This normally means my hair feels sticky, not healthy when I am trying to dry it. 

The John Frieda one doesn't leave that problem, and just like the shampoo and conditioner, it rinses really well and leaves no residue behind. 

All products have an amazing clean scent. I prefer this to the strong fruity and floral kind that can sometimes be a little sickly. 

I can safely say that I will be repurchasing every one of these products. I have never found the perfect products for my hair type and I really wish I had picked these up a long time ago. 

If you are going to try something from John Frieda, I strongly recommend trying the hair mask at least. It will not let you down.

Hi Lovelies!

I recently requested a sample of the new Loreal Elvive Triple Resist Reinforcing Shampoo. The sample sachet was bigger than I had expected, so that for me was a thumbs up.

When I tried out the shampoo, I have admit that I found it quite drying and my hair felt a little more brittle than usual. This may be because I had only used it the once and maybe I should give it a longer try to really say whether this is really the case. 

The shampoo is advertised to help hair weakened by the torture we put it through daily. Loreal says the formula will reinforce hair from root to tip and make it stronger. 

With that said I'm still out on this one. I can't make a true decision whether to keep at it or quit while I'm ahead. 

Has anyone else tried this shampoo? Let me know what you think.

    I recently requested a sample from the new Pantene Pro-V line which arrived in the post this morning, and it couldn't of come on a better day! My day's been a bit of a fail if I'm honest, thanks to myself being a total clumsy bum and spilling my gingerbread latte all over me in Costa today. Me being me, I cried from the embarrasment and left a very soggy and sticky mess. Sadface. When I got home I thought to myself, this is the ideal time for a long soaky bath, so that I did.

    In order to receive my sample I had to fill in a quick questionnaire to help them decipher  which of their new range to send me. There are six options in the new line. For normal-thick hair,  you can choose from smooth & sleek and repair & protect. For fine hair, the choices are volume & body and aqua light, and for  coloured or highlighted hair you can pick from protect & volume or protect & smooth. The new range has been reinvented and customised to help support each different types of hairs structural level.

    I was sent the Colour Protect and smooth option as I've been dying my hair size I was 13 and it needs all the looking after it can get, also at the moment it's still recovering from my crazy choice to have a bleach blonde pixie cut. Which I hated may I add, the colour was amazing but I missed my long hair.

    I was very impressed with the products I was sent, they all smelt amazing and did exactly what they were meant to. My favourite was the last stage product, the 2 minute colour damage repair masque. It wasn't too thick, it smelt good and washed out very easily. I sometimes find hair masks tend to leave a slight residue in my hair, but this certainly wasn't the case with this one.

   All in all the product I was sent made my hair very, very soft, probably the softest it's been for a while. Seeing as I'm growing out my hair and haven't had it cut for quite a while, I also have noticeable split ends, and after this they are a lot less obvious. I'm a very happy bunny and am definitely going to invest in a pot of the repair masque.
