When I heard that Rimmel were bringing out a new range of Kate Moss lipsticks, I knew I had to have a couple. But, when I heard that the new range was entirely matte, I dashed to my nearest Boots right away.

Luckily for me there was a 3 for 2 offer on, so I ended up picking two of the new range and one shade from the older line. (I'll blog about that one soon.)

First, I picked up shade 101. Surprisingly enough, I don't actually have many soft pinks in my collection and this one caught my attention straight away.
I'd definitely describe this as a soft baby pink with blue undertones.

The second shade I picked up was 110, a really bold and daring orange red.
This colour is amazing, but something I wouldn't normally pick out in fear that it would hake my teeth look incredibly yellow. Which, you'll be pleased to know, it doesn't.

Both lipsticks are ridiculously long wearing. I actually wore shade 110 a lot whilst we were staying in Leeds and I found it even lasted throughout me eating a 3 course meal. It did need a teeny bit of touching up, but if I had left it back at the hotel, it wouldn't have been the end of the world.

I much prefer a matte lip for the A/W months, and an extra bonus to these lipsticks, is they don't dry out your lips at all. They're actually pretty moisturising.

For £5.49, you cannot go wrong with these lipsticks. I'm now constantly choosing these over any of my others in my pretty large stash. Hopefully I'll be able to get my mitts on the other three shades in the matte collection soon.

Which shade do you like best?

A few weeks ago I had a hankering for a dark lipstick. Nothing in my collection was doing the job, so I made a little trip to Superdrug. I didn't quite know what I wanted, all I knew was that I wanted a dark, gothic type shade.
After some time my eyes got drawn to this most amazing deep aubergine/eggplant purple. The fact that it was Kate for Rimmel made me want it even more. This is the first Kate lipstick I have bought and I was really excited to finally try one out.
This lipstick retails for £5.49, not a bad price, but I do feel like you don't get a whole lot of product.
Being such a dark shade it does take some concentration to apply, but if applied straight from the bullet it is super opaque so you don't have to faff about apply a dozen layers for a strong lip. I feel if you wanted more of a sheer colour you could always apply it with a lip brush.
The wear of this lipstick is good but not great. I'd say you can get maybe 3 or so hours out of it before having to re-apply it. Also, if you aren't careful, you could end up with that scary lip liner look where the lipstick wears off in the middle of your lips before anywhere else.
Formulation wise, the lipstick is super smooth, it has a slight sheen and doesn't dry your lips out at all.
Despite the couple of niggly points I've mentioned above, I absolutely love this lipstick. I feel I can see past the longevity issue and I would most definitely buy a few more shades. The newest shades have been catching my eye ton this week and I've been so tempted to splurge.
Have any of you guys tried any of the new shades? Let me know what they are like down below.
