Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Compact Foundation | Review

whenflowersfall, beauty, review, rimmel, match perfection cream compact, foundation,

Now, if you know me at all, then you will already know how much I love the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation. So when I came across the cream compact version on Fragrance Direct, I popped it in my basket straight away.

I decided on the shade 'light porcelain' as I felt it would match my paleness rather well at the minute, and I'm pleased to report that it does. It has taken me a few attempts of wearing this to really fall in love with it, but I think I love it just as much as I do the liquid.
I've found the best way to apply this is either with your fingers, or with a small flat foundation brush. The sponge provided is rather useless and just sucks up the product, and a buffing brush is only really any good for smoothing out any streaks after applying. This is what I like to do. Firstly apply with the Real Techniques pointed foundation brush, then sweep over my face with a RT buffing brush to make sure the product is all even.
In my opinion, this foundation is more suited to those with drier to normal skin. I find it can cling a little to dry patches, but nothing that's too noticeable. Due to the consistency of the product, if you are on the oilier side, you may find that this will slide off of your skin a little to easy. Setting it with a powder may well help that though.
I'd say this foundation is a light to medium coverage, but can be buildable if you let it set between applications. It has a pretty good longevity throughout the day, and can be easily topped up if need be.

If you are a fan of the original liquid, I would definitely recommend you give this a go.
Fragrance Direct still has this in stock for only £4.25, or you can pick it up at your local Boots or Superdrug.
