Cloud Print Blind || WFF Does DIY

Oh, hey! It's time for a new feature. 

With the new house, we're finding more and more things we need to DIY. Now, our new home is a rented property, so there's only a certain amount of things we can actually do. So rather than ripping down walls, and replacing floors, we've decided to just give some pieces in our home a little personality. 

I always knew that I wanted a cloud print blind for Scout's new room. The only problem is, the one I had seen from Farg Form was not only in the wrong colour, but also pricey and quite hard to find. So, I thought I'd make it myself. 

- The roller blind we picked up was one of the Colour Match range ones in Argos. Unfortunately, I cannot remember for the life of me which colour blue we went for. I'd really recommend asking to see the colour you're after before buying, as the catalogue colours and colours online differ dramatically. Prices for these are super cheap, I think ours cost £12.99; but please keep in mind that the quality is reflected in the price. 

- The paint I picked up to use was the Dylon fabric paint. I've used it before and have had nothing but great experience with it. Usually, you would paint, dry, iron and wash. But, with the blind, obviously you can't stick it in the washing machine. 

- From here on out, this is super simple. Just use a super small paint brush and paint on your clouds, or design of choice. You could even use some card and make stencils to make all of the clouds absolutely perfect. 

- Annnndd, tadaaaaa! 

I really love the way this looks. It took roughly two hours to dry, and I left it at that. If you do want to make sure it is totally set, you could maybe go over it with a hairdryer on a low heat. I wouldn't recommend the ironing stage as directed, doing this may encounter some melting if you are using a plastic backed blind like this one. 

I haven't washed this at all, but the fabric is still soft and malleable. It's been up in Scout's room for a couple of weeks now and there hasn't been any cracking in the paint, and it looks just as good as it did when I first finished it.
